VILLA BOCCACCIO

For those looking for total seclusion and leisure in the heart of Tuscany, Villa Boccaccio, perched on a hill with picturesque views of the surroundings, is the ideal hideaway. This magnificent Villa, which dates back to 1210, can house up to twelve people and has six bedrooms—four double beds and two twin rooms—each with an en suite bathroom.

The Counts Alberti di Certaldo, the head of the powerful Longobard family who ruled the neighboring Elsa valley, constructed Caput Aulae as the hub of Val d'Elsa's court in 1210, marking the beginning of the Villa's history. Up until the 17th century, the Alberti family held and occupied this magnificent castle, which they eventually turned into an opulent residence. The square brick tower and the defensive walls beside the villa are remnants of the ancient 13th-century fortified fortress.

The mansion is complemented by opulent amenities such as a private pool, a dedicated chapel, a 13th-century tower, and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. There is a sizable garden in front of the property with views of the Tuscan countryside. There's a lawn and an arcaded loggia surrounding the private pool, which is accessed by a stairway. The poolside area provides a serene atmosphere, making it the perfect place to soak up the sun and relish blissful moments of leisure.

The ground level features a large living room with a fireplace accessible from the front entrance. A stunning marble staircase ascends to the first floor on the left. There is a corridor leading from the living room to the other rooms of the house. The kitchen is large and well-equipped, with vaulted ceilings and terracotta floors. Beyond a guest restroom along the corridor is an opulent dining area with French windows overlooking the courtyard. Additionally, there is a double bedroom with a Jacuzzi tub in the en suite bathroom on this floor.

A lengthy hallway on the first level connects the bedrooms, which are located at the summit of the marble staircase. The annex is a medieval tower standing alongside the villa and has its own access. From the living room on the ground floor a staircase takes you up to a double bedroom with its own bathroom with shower. Here you will also find a breathtaking roof terrace. A Limonaia is converted into a casual sitting room, with six arched windows offering sweeping views of surrounding countryside. In the garden there is also a 13th-century chapel dedicated to Saint Bartholomew, restored during the 18th century, which contains a crypt.
